Lasik Surgery to Correct Near-sightedness, Far-sightedness, and Astigmatism

 Laser Assisted In-Situ Keratomileusis

LASIK uses the precision of laser technology to reshape the cornea to correct a variety of vision problems. First, a thin layer of the cornea is lifted, allowing the laser to reach the cornea. In less than 90 seconds, light and high energy pulses from the laser help shape the cornea to restore normal vision. Because of the cornea's extraordinary bonding qualities, healing is rapid, requiring no stitches.

Photo-Refractive Keratectomy (PRK)

uses excimer laser to reshape the cornea to correct vision problems such as near-sightedness. The excimer laser emits a "cold" light beam, eliminating the possibility of thermal damage to surrounding tissue.

What Is Laser Vision Correction?

Laser Vision Correction is a precise method of reshaping the cornea to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. It involves the use of the eximer laser to improve the eye's ability to focus. As a result of removing microscopic amounts of tissue from the cornea with the computerized laser, the shape of the cornea, or the external layer of the eye, is changed to the desired amount, which allows the eye to focus properly.

"Wow! What an awesome experience! I have to admit that I was very nervous about having the Lasik procedure done. I had not been able to see the big 'E' on the doctor's eye chart, without correction lenses for several years. After having my Lasik surgery, I went back the following day and could see the Big 'E' crystal clear. The procedure is very quick and painless. My husband said it took between 20 and 30 minutes. Dr. Kingrey and his staff are wonderful. Everyone explained what they were going to do before they did it. It helped to put my mind at ease. What a wonderful doctor and staff to perform the procedure!"

"The initial visit was very comfortable, I was very calm and reassured everything would be Ok as explained. On the day of surgery it went very well and felt very comfortable. After waking, my vision was excellent. Lasik with Dr. Kingrey was excellent. I highly recommend it to everyone."
